Rev. Ricardo Gouvea

On January 1, 2023 West Flamboro Presbyterian Church welcomed the Rev. Dr. Ricardo Gouvea.
 

Pastor Gouvea is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church. He is also a professor of theology and religious studies and a writer with eight books published in Brazil, and a chapter in a book published in the USA. Pastor Gouvea was ordained in 1992. He became a minister of the Word and Sacrament of the Brazilian Presbyterian Church. He spent six years in the USA in the 1990s working on his graduate studies in theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, PA, USA, and followed by post doctoral studies at Waterloo University in Canada.

During his 31 years of ministry, Pastor Gouvea has pastored different churches, and now he is thankful to God for having been called to serve at West Flamboro. Dr. Gouvea has taught theology, philosophy, applied social studies, and religious studies in different seminaries and universities for the last 35 years in Brazil, in the USA, and in Canada.

Pastor Gouvea and Lilia, his wife, have been happily married for 35 years. Ricardo and Lilia love to talk and share meals and good times with the people they meet and befriend. They are passionate about people, animals, books, music, and nature. Pastor Ricardo is a dedicated preacher and teacher.
