Youth & Children's Ministries
When friends tried to keep children from interrupting Jesus, he said, “Allow the little children to come to me.” When Jesus described the requisite spiritual attitude he said, “Unless you become as a little child, you will not enter the kingdom of God.” It is clear that Jesus valued children.
At West Flamboro Presbyterian, we too value children. We want to clear the way for children and youth to hear the words of Jesus and experience God’s love. One way we do this is through our weekly Sunday School, where age-appropriate learning and worship are offered to children. Our dedicated teachers are committed to loving children and helping them to know the love of God in Jesus Christ.
In addition, we take our baptismal vows seriously. By this we mean we are committed to fulfilling our vows of Christian support for every child baptized in our congregation. We want to support parents in the crucial task of raising a child in the Christian faith. Special family events and Kids Day Out programs are some ways in which we seek to support parents.
Older youth are encouraged to use their gifts and abilities in our worship service and to attend Bible study and regional youth events. Games such as “Christian Guard” and events like “Fasting for Food Grains” are ways in which we can experience fun and meaningful service for others.
In summary, we desire to meaningfully contribute to the nurture of a young person’s Christian identity. Contact us for event information, mentorship programs, and how we can help support the work of Christ in your child.
